Many companies failed or required bailouts from the government in the recent economic downturn. During this time, we honed our business process and thrived with your support. Now, having completed our 4th corporate year-end, we are sending out A Great Big Thank You to all the people in our network.
Our company's growth milestones include:
- The adoption of the 'Drupal Content Management System' (CMS) that we use to develop all of our client websites.
- By building client trust we found a better way to develop and maintain important digital marketing assets. Previous contract based arrangements often created an adversarial dynamic. Now our clients subscribe to monthly blocks of time.
- Utilizing live video conferencing (Skype) to conduct scheduled meetings and client training sessions.
People always ask how long it takes to create a website?
The Drupal CMS leverages the contribution of the open-source community. Since 2001 Drupal has continued to improve and develop its offerings, including the contribution of over 9,500 free software modules which extend its functionality. This gives assurance that the backbone of websites we develop is mature, robust and scalable. When we started, it took a minimum of 1-2 days to build a website. Now on our servers it takes approximately 1 hour to install, point the domain and do some customization to our Drupal Template.
What this means to our clients is less time spent programming, and more time spent generating content and training your staff on best practices to do the updates themselves! Building a content rich website is the part that takes time, so if you do not have the time, we are pleased to do it for you!
After completing many client websites, we found the text content was always the tardy part to the mix. In year 5, we added a copy editor to handle proof reading for our clients. Having an authorized and professional person (B.A. English Literature) to review text has allowed our clients to become BARFERS, NOT BIRTHERS, speeding the website launch process along considerably.
2009 was a great year for us, and we look forward to 2010 being even better! Due to the reality of our business model, we only have so much time available.
